The Bethadilly Challenge: March 1 – 5

I have a strong feeling that this month is going to be an extremely memorable month. Tomorrow, Caleb and I are leading our team to Lima, Peru; a country that has an incredible hold on my heart.

I am so excited to see what memories I’ll be able to capture, and to share them with the world once we get back to the States. For now, here are my first five Bethadilly Challenge photos. If you’d like to participate this month, click here for the prompts.

March 1: my passion {I have a lot of passions – writing, traveling, teaching, learning about Jesus – but most recently, I’ve discovered that I love photography. I have so much more to learn, but I love being able to capture the people and animals I love the most}

Next time I post something, I’ll be in Peru! Yay!

The Bethadilly Challenge: February 8 – 14

So far, this week was the most challenging week for me. Once a month I house sit / babysit for a single mother while she is on-call at one of our local hospitals. The job is easy, and the pay is excellent, but I hate leaving Caleb and sleeping alone in a house that is still strange to me even after almost a year. Not to mention, waking up at 5:30 a.m. is not my forte.

I’ve struggled with the prompts. And I’ve lost out on a lot of natural, beautiful light. Even so, here are my pictures. They’re not the best, but I’m determined to stick this challenge out until the very end.

February 8: chaos {from the start of this day I was feeling run down. maybe I’m coming down with a cold? who knows. either way, I came home from church, avoided chaos at all costs, and took a much needed nap. this is also an iPhone photo, in case you were wondering}

February 9: writing {I love going back & reading what I’ve written in past journal entries. in September, God placed a promise of provision on my heart – specifically for our loans. on Sunday we received $500 which was exactly what we needed to become fully funded for our upcoming missions trip. if God can provide for a small missions trip, He can most definitely do the same for our loans}

February 12: my view today {I came home from a long day of student teaching & a disappointing interview to find my hard working husband cooking dinner. I had to hide behind the wall because he doesn’t like getting his picture taken…nonetheless, I’m grateful for him & all he does}

February 13: love {we had a Valentine’s Celebration & my students gave me treats & a heart shaped doughnut. I love that I get to do this all the time}

The Bethadilly Challenge: February 1 – 7

I cannot believe a week of February pictures is finished! I am so excited to continue to share my Bethadilly photo challenge pictures, and to document my journey of learning how to use my DSLR. If you’re looking for a photo challenge (even just for this month), I would encourage you to try Beth’s prompts. I am inspired daily & am somehow still motivated to continue with the challenge. 🙂

February 1: on my table {our side table holds our map coasters & one of our many flea market lanterns. I also included my owl dish because owls are my favorite}

Milo’s Box & the Seahawks

Yesterday I shared my last few January pictures from The Bethadilly Challenge, and because I’ve dubbed Sunday as “picture day,” I thought I’d share a few extras that I took this past week. My photo subject was none other than my buddy Milo.

When I received my giveaway package from Parrish Papers & Busy Bot, I almost threw away the box. However, Milo had other plans, and has been laying in it ever since. It doesn’t even lay completely flat on the floor, but he loves it just the same.

Too much? Maybe. He looked so helpless sitting in the box…

Not only is today “picture day,” but it’s also the Super Bowl!

I may be more excited about eating wings than actually watching the game….but when the Seahawks win, Caleb is happy. And when he’s happy, I’m happy.

Sometimes you gotta pretend to like sports for the ones you love. And you gotta root for your husband’s team so you don’t have to move out of the house. 😉

The Bethadilly Challenge: January 26 – 31

January 26: what inspires me {the world inspires me. there are so many people I need to meet, places I need to explore, and food I need to eat. the idea of traveling is the main thing that motivates me to get up every morning & work hard to graduate in May. my body may be in Pennsylvania, but pieces of my heart have been left in so many places, and continually yearns for new ones}

Milo

Today started the way all Saturdays should.

No need for alarms; just the sweet rays of the sun, and Milo’s soft wheezy breathing in my face.

I keep mentioning my new camera because I love it. I love being able to capture the things I cherish the most.

Milo is a special soul. He is unlike any other cat I have ever met or owned. He lets me hold him, he drinks sweet tea & eats crunchy leaves, he meows (sings) along to Adele, and loves to sleep right at my feet. He even participated in the ALS Cold Water Challenge.

If you’re really lucky, I might even show you a video of him dancing.
